Milk, tea, peanut butter, pastes and tinned meat head our ‘most wanted’ list for March.
Cartons of long life whole milk once again head our Top Ten priority list of items for Food Hub clients and their families in March.
Sandwich spreads – jars of peanut butter and meat & fish paste – are also listed along with boxes of 40 & 80 tea bags, tins of plain meat – corned beef, ham, chicken – and tinned vegetarian meals such as the Princes plant based range.
This range includes lentil & mushroom bolognese, vegetable green Thai curry, chunky vegetable curry and Mexican mixed bean chilli; Tesco and Morrisons offer similar ranges. (Any tinned pulses are also very acceptable.)
Packet dried potatoes and tinned dessert fruit are also needed please, and this month’s non-food priority items are unisex shampoo and unisex deodorant.

Donations can be brought to us at Purley United Reformed Church, next to Purley Hospital, (from Monday 2nd March) between 9.00 – 11.30am on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
On Mondays please come to the white doors at the end of the church building directly ahead from Brighton Road. On Wednesdays and Saturdays please come round to the brown doors on the Purley Hospital side of the building.
Donations can also be dropped off at any of our in-store and roadside collection points listed here. In case of real difficulty, we may be able to collect your donations – please email purleyfoodhub@gmail.com or text 07546 635295.
Your donations also enable us to support the two local Food Stops – at Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church, Purley, and St Francis Church, Monks Hill, Selsdon – where many of our clients move on to for further help after receiving our emergency food parcels.
Once again we thank you for every tin, jar, packet, bottle and pound you donate – each one goes to support someone locally who is struggling to put enough food on the table for them and their family.
Since we opened in 2013 your continued generosity has helped us to provide food for 420,000 meals for more than 46,000 people.
