3,300 meals delivered in November, taking year’s total so far to 37,700.
We provided food for around 370 people in November – the equivalent of 3,330 meals, the most since August.
The number of meals took the overall total for 2024 so far to 37,700 with December, our traditionally busiest month of the year, to come.
November’s final session on Saturday 30th was the third of three consecutive Saturdays when food was supplied to around 60 people across the south of the borough.
During December, clients due deliveries on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day will instead receive an enhanced delivery on Wednesday 18th plus an Aldi gift card, ranging in value from £25-£70 depending on the number of people in the family.
Meanwhile, over the first two weeks of December, the Food Hub’s volunteers are delivering Aldi vouchers to a record 234 clients/families nominated by agencies as part of our Come Dine with Jesus project.
On 30th November, 56 children from 23 families attended a crafts-and-tea event at Purley Baptist Church and each received a toy and a chocolate selection box as part of the Toys for Joy scheme.
