Biscuits and children’s chocolate/sweet treats would add a welcome festive touch.
Items that are as near as we can provide for a traditional Christmas meal for our Food Hub clients and their families make up the December food list, also reflecting our current stock shortages.
Tins of plain chicken and ham, packet and tinned potatoes and tinned peas and carrots top the month’s most wanted list, followed by tins of dessert fruit, puddings, jellies and packet custard.
Bottles of squash and jars of red jam (strawberry and raspberry) are also needed. And donations of Christmas biscuits and children’s chocolate/sweet treats would add a welcome festive touch!
We are open to receive donations at Purley United Reformed Church (next to Purley Hospital) each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday morning from 9.00am to 12.00midday up to and including Wednesday 20th December. Then after a brief pause we are open again on Saturday 30th.
If it is more convenient, you can take donations to any of our local in-store and roadside collection points listed here.
As a direct result of our supporters’ generosity, since we opened in 2013 we have provided food for nearly 330,000 meals for 36,000 adults and children. On their behalf, we say:
Thank you everyone for every tin and every pound you give us – each one goes to someone facing hardship and in real need at this time.
