Oriental food store’s £2,500 gift will also help three local food crisis organisations

Brian Gibbs, a member of the Food Hub’s Management Committee, this week received a cheque for £2,500 from the staff and management of the Wing Yip supermarket on Purley Way, Croydon.

Thanking the staff for their amazingly generous donation, Brian explained that as an emergency food bank we work closely with other local food banks and with the Food Stops which provide longer-term support to families in crisis, and we also use donations to buy in stock when required.

We are glad therefore to share Wing Yip’s donation equally with three of our partner organisations: The Vine Food Bank in New Addington, Purley Food Stop based at Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church, Purley, and St Francis Food Stop in Monks Hill, Selsdon.

Big thanks to everyone at Wing Yip for your generosity in helping local families struggling to put food on the table at this time.
