Long life milk for children once again tops this month’s list of Most Needed Items.
A resounding big thank-you to all of our donors who rallied round to ensure our struggling clients and their families didn’t go without during the school summer holidays.
“You so generously provided the essential items they needed for their children to get a balanced food package,” said our Stock Controller, Louise Willmer.
“But it was also the extra sweets and treats that were really appreciated, making the time a bit more special for those unable to afford outings and holidays. Thank you from us all at the Food Hub.”
During July and August we gave out more than 300 cartons of whole milk to clients’ children, and as a result our supplies are seriously run down. Yet again, therefore, long life whole milk for children is at the top of our priority list of 12 most-wanted items in September, along with small bottles of squash.
Packet/tinned potatoes, small 500g packets of long grain rice and tinned carrots are also required, plus tinned fruit, packet custard and tins of rice pudding.
There are four non-food items this month: baby wipes, unisex deodorant, washing powder tablets/capsules and washing up liquid.

We are open to receive donations on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 12.00midday at Purley United Reformed Church, next to Purley Hospital in Purley town centre. Or, if you prefer, you can drop them off at any of our local in-store and roadside collection points listed here.
It is directly as a result of our supporters’ continued kindness and generosity that we have been able over the past 10 years to provide food for nearly 320,000 meals for hard-pressed local people going through tough times.
