Tea bags, peanut butter and fish paste top our list of items most needed April

Huge thanks to everyone who generously donated food, toiletries and household essentials in March…and also large numbers of Easter eggs from, among others, staff from several companies who work in the Renaissance building in Dingwall Road, Croydon, and 14th Coulsdon Brownies and Guides.

“I know our clients with families will have been thrilled to receive the eggs and to see the smiles on their children’s faces,” says Louise Willmer, our Stock Controller.

“I would also like to thank all of our supporters who donated J-cloths, sponges and soap for the new kitchen cleaning packs that we now give to all of our clients.

“To make up the packs, we are so fortunate to have students from Rutherford School, South Croydon, the 16-19 Pathway Project, Waddon, and our friend Anna and their support teachers and workers who kindly come along each Monday morning as part of our team of volunteers.”

In April, our Top 10 priority items are headed by small boxes of tea bags, jars of peanut butter and jars of fish paste. Tinned meat such as ham, chicken and corned beef, packet & tinned potatoes and packets of soup with individual sachets are also needed, as are jars of tomato-based pasta sauce, tinned tomatoes and tins of dessert fruit.

And to finish everything off: bottles of washing up liquid please!

Since the Food Hub opened in 2013, the generosity of our supporters has enabled us to provide food for nearly 38,500 people – equivalent to more than 345,000 meals. THANK YOU EVERYONE!
