Long march from Chipstead to be followed by short spin round Kenley Aerodrome.
Croydon Ramblers are stepping out to raise money for the Food Hub. On 27th July more than 20 ramblers and friends walked from Elmore Pond in Chipstead, doing a choice of 7½ and 10-mile walks and collecting money on the way. By 31st July they had already raised £575, well exceeding their target of £500.
The effort does not stop there, however. On Sunday 13th August they will be doing a circular two-mile walk round Kenley Airfield. Again they are inviting new walkers, friends and family to join them, finishing with tea and homemade cake. Meet at the War Memorial in Hayes Lane at 2.00pm or if you prefer just come for the refreshments from 2.45pm onwards.
The walks have been organised by Dave Scott, a former Food Hub volunteer. Thank you, Dave and Croydon Ramblers! More details at their fundraising page here or email Dave at brancaster65@outlook.com.
