Top Ten items include hot chocolate drinks, sugar, pulses, desserts and tin openers.
Our Top Ten items most needed for Food Hub clients in August include tomato-based pasta sauce, packet soup and savoury & sweet biscuits. Hot chocolate drink requiring only water, small bags of sugar and tinned pulses are also listed, along with tins of dessert fruit and rice pudding.
Completing this month’s items are unisex deodorant…and tin openers. Although many tins today have ring pulls, there are still a lot that don’t, and we find that a big number of our clients don’t have a strong, reliable tin opener.
Louise Willmer, our Stock Controller who also chairs our Management Committee, says: “We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals, groups and organisations who support us at a time of year when donations often fall.
“Huge thanks to all our supporters for your continued support, especially with the increased living costs that everyone is experiencing. I know our clients really appreciate the food they receive and the difference it makes to their lives.”
Please bring donations on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings between 9.00am and 12.00midday to our base at Purley United Reformed Church in Purley town centre (next to Purley Hospital). Or you can drop them off at any of our network of collection points listed here.
