March, April and December 2020 set new records as our busiest months ever.
Wednesday’s final session of the year took the total number of meals provided during 2020 to hard-pressed clients and their families to 48,987. This is by far the most in a year since the Food Hub started in 2013 and up 60 per cent on 2019.
December was our third busiest month on record, with 4,644 meals provided to 516 clients and family members – third only to March (5,067 meals) and April (5,022) at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in the spring.
Once more, on behalf of our clients we thank everyone who is involved in any way at all with the work of the Food Hub. None of what we do would be possible without the contribution of every single volunteer, donor and supporter, and our ticket partners too. THANK YOU SO MUCH ONE AND ALL!
Donations on the past two Wednesdays have included (again) from the lovely people who live in Cumberlands, a 49-house cul-de-sac off Kenley Lane, Croydon Communities Consortium and four churches: St Margaret’s Carshalton Beeches, St Mark’s and St Swithun’s Purley and Coulsdon Methodist – as well as from numerous individuals and families.
