Fish and meat paste, veggie meal trays for toddlers and drinking chocolate among items wanted in June.
Long life whole milk is once more at the top of our list of 12 food and toiletry items most wanted for Food Hub clients and their family members in June.
Yet it’s little wonder, bearing in mind that each person receives a one-litre carton of milk with their food parcel – that’s just over 1,400 milk already given out in the first five months of 2026.
Jars of fish and meat paste, vegetarian microwavable trays for toddlers aged 10 months and upwards, and drinking chocolate requiring only hot water are also listed, together with pasta sauce in cartons, packets of dried potato needing only hot water, tinned/long life vegetarian meals and tins of fruit and rice pudding.
We also have three non-food items on the list: unisex deodorant, bars of soap and clothes washing pods.
Click here to view the list in full. To have it sent with our monthly newsletter directly to your inbox at the beginning of each month, please email steve.purleyfoodhub@gmail.com.
Donations can be brought to us at Purley United Reformed Church, next to Purley Hospital, between 9.00 – 11.30am on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
On Mondays please come to the white doors at the end of the building ahead of you from Brighton Road; on Wednesdays and Saturdays please come to the brown doors on the right-hand (hospital) side of the church building.
You can also drop off donations at any of our in-store and roadside collection points listed here. In the event of difficulty, we may be able to arrange collection of your donations – please email purleyfoodhub@gmail.com or text 07546 635295.
As well as supporting the Food Hub, donations also help support the two local Food Stops – at Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church, Purley, and St Francis Church, Monks Hill, Selsdon – where a lot of our clients move on to for further help after receiving their emergency food bags from us.
As ever we are grateful for each tin, jar, packet, bottle and pound that you kindly donate – they all go to support someone locally who is struggling to put food on the table for them and their family.
We thank EVERYONE for your continued generous support. As a result, since we started in 2013 we have been able to provide food for over 430,000 meals for nearly 48,000 people.
