Coulsdon pharmacy’s contribution is just what the doctor ordered.
A big thank-you for a donation to the Food Hub of £350 worth of toiletry items, arranged by a local GP and pharmacy.
Valley Pharmacy in Chipstead Valley Road, Coulsdon, runs a Covid-19 vaccination centre at St Aidan’s Church Hall with the help of local volunteers. “The vaccinators themselves are professionals but many of them also want to do it as unpaid volunteers,” says Amish Patel, Superintendent Pharmacist at Valley Pharmacy, part of Infohealth Ltd.
One of the vaccinators, Purley GP Ashik Patel, offers his services on his day off and made it clear to Amish from the start that he wanted to do it strictly on an unpaid basis and give his fees to charity.
Amish says: “I thought hard about which charity to support and then it occurred to me to support Purley Food Hub” – and Ashik readily agreed.
Ashik’s fees to date come to £350 – and this week our volunteer driver Eddie collected boxes of deodorants, soap, toothpaste and shower gel from Valley Pharmacy…to the value of £350.
So, thank you to Ashik for donating your fees, and to Amish for thinking of the Food Hub. In addition, Amish and his staff support the Food Hub with a separate monthly donation of toiletries.
