Jam, honey, tinned tomatoes, dried potato and soup head this month’s most wanted list

Big thanks to everyone who generously donated items to the Food Hub in March – you enabled us to deliver food for 3,564 meals to 396 hard-pressed clients and family members, making it our second busiest March since we opened nine years ago.

In addition, we were able to pass on supplies of food to the three local food stops operating at Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church, Purley; St Francis Church, Monks Hill, Selsdon; and the Family Centre in Fieldway, New Addington.

In April, we are particularly looking for donations of small jars of jam and honey, tinned tomatoes, small packets of dried potato and tinned and packet soup. Small bottles of squash are also on our Top Ten most needed list, together with puddings/jellies/Angel Delight and tinned rice pudding. Non-food items requested are unisex shampoo and washing powder tablets.

Donations can be brought to us at Purley United Reformed Church (next to Purley Hospital) on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings between 9.00am – 12.00midday, or they can be left at any of our in-store or roadside collections points. Full details here.
