More than 5,000 meals delivered in December – the highest monthly figure since we opened in 2013

Our busiest ever pre-Christmas session on 22nd December was followed by our busiest ever post-Christmas session yesterday (Weds 29th Dec).

During another five-hour session, the team of 24 volunteers packed, despatched and delivered food parcels for 133 clients and family members. At three meals a day for three days for each person, that’s 1,197 meals.

It means that in these two sessions alone we provided a total of 2,421 meals, nearly twice last year’s corresponding 1,251 meals.

It took our December total of meals to 5,184 – our most in any single month in the eight years since the Food Hub was launched in January 2013.

It also took 2021’s overall total of meals provided to more than 33,500.

Once again, we gratefully acknowledge the contribution of each and every one of our 150 volunteers and each and every donation received from our ever-growing band of supporters.
